You can use any thickness of multiwall polycarbonate for a carport. As insulation will not be an issue 10mm will be sufficent. It is available in clear ,bronze or opal. Most carports have a low pitch roof so if you use wide sheets you need to ensure they are fixed to the purlins to withstand wind and snow loads. They are usually fixed with buttons which are available from your polycarbonate supplier. If you don't feel confident with buying the components from various suppliers you can call our office and we can talk you through what you need . If you want a standard size carport there are packs available on the market. They work out slightly more expensive but do come with full instructions so are ideal for the novice. Omega Plastics can supply a complete canopy with guttering and legs. Check them out on www.omegabuild.com/canopy
